This set of audio presentations consists of six separate ‘lessons’ covering the law relating to self-defence and prevention of crime (also known as the defences of private and public defence).
The issues covered include: the range of justified force defences; sources of the defences; the meaning of reasonable force; pre-emptive strikes; mistaken belief in the need for force; self-defence and intoxication; self-defence and insane delusions; the availability of the defence where D is the initial aggressor; force used against acts which are not unlawful; the requirement of force; self-defence contrasted with duress of circumstances.
